How it works

School and community-based agency groups consist of 8-10 teens (ages 12-18) with two adult chaperones. We will supply the program leader, additional volunteers, equipment, and most of the food needed. Lists of what to bring for the program are available on each activity description page. Our school and agency partners are responsible for recruiting youth and covering a portion of the costs. Schools and agencies are also responsible for providing transportation to the program location. However, please let us know if transportation assistance is needed. Program leaders will meet you at the program location unless it takes place outside of the metro area.

Programs happen regardless of rain or shine. We’ll be watching the weather and will adjust if necessary, but please make sure all of your participants are prepared.

Each program is designed to focus on an area of development such as problem-solving, communication skills, trust, or leadership. Let us know what your students or youth group needs the most help with and we’ll customize the experience to meet their needs.

Programs are free to our youth. We ask our partners to cover a small portion of the program costs. Please contact our Director of Programs using the button below to discuss program fees and scheduling further.

As an organization that serves mostly low-income, Black, and Hispanic youths, Chicago Voyagers is committed to the principles of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. Our program model reflects this commitment and our programs are facilitated with these principles in mind. We encourage anyone planning a program with us, including youth agencies, their youth participants, and their families, to discuss any inclusion concerns with us at any point. Whether it be an accessibility need, a question of LGBTQ+ health or safety, a religious accommodation, or another concern, we are happy to discuss this with you!
