We will canoe for 5 days on a series of lakes in northwest Wisconsin near the town of Sherman. The area consists of 16 lakes and 3 rivers. There are one or two places where we need portage our gear (carry it from one lake to another). This is a great opportunity for testing teamwork and persistence while we paddle each day. The area is wild (95% of the shore in publicly owned) and is home to bears, loons, osprey, timber wolves, bald eagles, foxes, and deer. The woodlands consist primarily of aspen, northern hardwoods and white birch with scattered old growth hemlock and pine. This is the Northwoods!
